I am a New Jersey native (no, not just “Jersey”) and graduate of Syracuse University (Let’s go, Orange!). I have spent more than 30 years in newspapers ranging in size from the small-town weekly to the major metropolitan daily. I have worn many journalistic hats — reporter, photographer, darkroom technician, sports editor, delivery person, managing editor, city editor, page designer and copy editor. I recently accepted a buyout from my longtime employer, one of many newspapers across the country that have been forced to cut staff in recent years. I’m now searching for ways to use my writing and editing skills in a new way.
